I’m so happy this weekend is Christmas. After the fun of Big Bear with all my friends, I’m in a post vacation funk so more time with family and friends sounds like the perfect fix.
I’m cooking for the fam on Sunday and going to be making Beef Wellington for the first time. I’ve always been kinda fascinated by the dish so I thought what could be a better time than the holiday? Let’s just all hope that I don’t mess it up!
Tonight is my Aunt and Uncle’s annual Accordion night which is basically where we all go to listen to my Uncle play the Accordion and we sing Christmas carols. It’s basically the cutest family tradition ever and I love going every year. This year I made my very own ugly sweater to wear to the festivities.
Things I’m into:
Coalatree Kachula
This blanket was a project on Kickstarter and I really like it. It’s waterproof and sand easily slides off, it folds up into a pillow, has a zip up pocket for valuables and can be used as a poncho (with hood) in those times of bad weather or when it gets chilly. I love picnics and going to the beach so this will be great for that or even to use as a pillow on my hammock. It’s super nice that’s it waterproof for when I spill wine at a picnic (known to happen) or when it gets wet. The zip up pocket is clutch for cell phone and wallet and valuables (because who would think to check a blanket?) and it’s great that it’s so portable by just folding it into the pocket.
Bananagrams
I’ve played Bananagrams before but when we were at the cabin in Big Bear, we all played together and I was reminded how fun it is. It’s kind of like scrabble but you have a board all to yourself and it’s a race to see who can use up all their tiles first. There’s also a party addition which allows you to do things like make them stand on one leg, run around the table, etc. to impede them from winning.
Build Your Own Ugly Sweater Kit
I saw this Build Your Own Ugly Sweater Kit at Target and thought it was fun. I’ve never had a Christmas themed “ugly sweater” before so I thought it would be a fun project one night before Christmas. You can see pictures of examples people created on Instagram using # … Here’s a picture of mine.
