Roasted Garlic Bread Prep time: 5 mins Cook time: 50 mins Total time: 55 mins

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 head of garlic
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp room temperature butter
  • 1/2 tbsp fresh parsley
  • 1/2 loaf French Bread

Instructions

  1. Peel cloves out of head of garlic, arrange individually on a piece of foil. Cut a big enough piece of foil so that you can fold it back over to create a sort of foil packet for the garlic. Top Garlic with olive oil. Bake at 425 degrees for 30 minutes.
  2. Once garlic has cooked, peel off the skins (this should be pretty easy–just put between two fingers and squish, the garlic should come right out of the skins). Mix together roasted garlic into butter, mashing garlic well so that it’s well mixed. Mix in parsley.
  3. Lower temperature to 350 degrees. Cut French Bread in half lengthwise, put on baking sheet and put in oven at 350 degrees for 5 minutes. Take out of oven, use a knife to spread garlic butter mixture over bread then put back in oven for another 5-10 minutes until bread is still soft or crunchy to your hearts desire.

Notes

If desired, add butter to the bread before grilling or baking, or mix with roasted garlic. Alternatively, you can mix roasted garlic with more olive oil.
Another option is to add some of your favorite cheese for a cheesy garlic bread.
