This week I’m introducing a new aspect to the blog called The Weekly Mince! It’ll be a weekly collection of content from the week, photographs, musings, links from around the web, things I’m enjoying, workouts, restaurant reviews, beer/drink reviews, book recommendations, etc. Hope you enjoy! Let me know if there’s anything special you’d like me to talk about.
This week went by pretty fast which is always nice! With the “close of summer” we had a Taco man come into work which of course I can always support! Although it still feels pretty warm outside so I’m not sure if California got the Fall memo quite yet. Nights have gotten a little cooler though so maybe we’re getting there. All I know is I can’t wait to have some Pumpkin beer!
Things I’m Loving:
Audible
I’ve always loved reading. I mean, from an educational standpoint, I majored in English so reading was a pretty big part of the job. From a life standpoint, I’ve been a voracious reader all my life. As a child, reading allowed my imagination to soar, it helped me find peace with the world around me and it made me feel like I was not alone. But having a job and buying a fixer upper and just generally having less time than I used to meant reading got put on the back burner. Enter: Audible. I’ve been going through a book or two a month, just listening to them in the car. (This would probably be more books but my commute to work is only like 10 minutes so there’s that). It’s definitely one of my favorite rituals I’ve added to my day. You can try a Free 30 day trial by clicking here.
Currently reading/listening to: Change of Heart by Jodi Picoult and A Million Little Pieces by James Frey.
iOS 10
I’ve seen a lot of complaints about this but so far I love it. Some of my favorite new features: handwriting in iMessage, bedtime addition to the alarm clock, being able to read text messages while in another app, updated control center, etc. What are your thoughts on it?
Digit
Digit is an easy away to save money without even having to think about it. I just link it to my account and it analyzes income/spending then takes small bits of money to safely save. It’s easy to transfer money if you need to and it can all be done via text message. So far I’m loving it and I’ve saved a little over $200 in one month.
Restaurant: Twisted Sage Cafe & Catering / San Dimas, CA
Went to this spot this past weekend and remembered why I love it so much! They have great food, Nitro Cold Brew and a dog friendly patio. What more could you want? I had an awesome Steak Sandwich there last Sunday.

Loved/felt guilty reading this article about how to save money on food and reduce waste.
