How to Make Bacon in the Oven. Perfectly baked bacon in the oven.
I’m as much of a bacon lover as the next gal. So long as the next gal is pretty helplessly in love with it.
Bacon is good. What else is there to say?
My personal favorite way to cook it is to bake it, for a few reasons: it’s a lot less messy, you can easily keep the drippings and you can make a much bigger batch at a time cutting down on cooking time.
I also like “flavored” bacon, not anything crazy, but I love to add some herbs or spices. My favorite addition is rosemary. There’s something about the flavor of rosemary that pairs perfectly with the smoked taste of bacon. It’s delightful.
So here, I present to you my contribution to the bacon mania that has taken over–baked bacon with rosemary. My favorite.
Mmm bacon.

- Prep Time: 5 mins
- Cook Time: 20 mins
- Total Time: 25 mins
Ingredients
- 1 package bacon
- 1 tablespoon dried rosemary or other herb/spice (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Line baking sheet with foil. Put cooling rack on top. Lay bacon in single layer on cooling rack and add seasonings, if using. If you don’t have a cooling rack, you can place bacon directly on foil.
- Cook bacon in over for about 10-15 minutes, until desired doneness. Cooking time varies on thickness of bacon.
Notes
I love adding some extra flavor to bacon. If that’s for you, try whatever you like. Some of my favorites are garlic, black pepper and rosemary.
