Shakshuka, also known as Eggs in Purgatory, is basically eggs poached in a spicy tomato sauce with a really cool name. When I first saw this dish, I was kinda like, what? But I thought the name was really cool and the flavors sounded interesting so I decided to give it a go. I don't like super spicy food, so this definitely isn't overly spicy, just enough spice to add to the flavor but definitely not so much that it drowns out everything else. The worst feeling is when something has the ... Read More about Shakshuka (Eggs in Purgatory)

The Weekly Mince; Vol. 19
This has been an interesting week. I've read a ton and started the challenge of writing 1,000 words per day. At some point, I'll do a post on it but first I want to see how I do! So far it's been really enlightening and a great exercise. Wonton Taco Cups
As far as food goes, I'm pretty open minded. I love trying new things. I love being shocked or surprised at a new flavor combination. So in the kitchen, things get pretty experimental. I hope to be like a mad kitchen scientist, combining things that maybe don't sound like they should be combined but somehow turn out delicious. I imagine that's how most innovations go. So yes, a mad kitchen scientist with my apron as my lab coat. Isn't that a fun picture? Okay, back to the point. Food fusions ... Read More about Wonton Taco Cups

I play hockey, watch hockey and love hockey, so as far as sport watching goes, you can typically find me pretty pumped up about the Stanley Cup finals. However, I'm also a big fan of food. I enjoy beer as well. It seems as though these two things are a huge part of football, most notably the Super Bowl so while I am not a big football fan, I am a big Super Bowl party fan. It's always important to have an open mind about these types of ... Read More about Super Bowl Recipes 2017
Happy New Year! 2017: The Year of Being Intentional
Though I don't really believe in New Years' resolutions per say, as I see each and every day as a time to grow and evolve, I have to admit this year it feels kind of good to be going into a "blank slate". I didn't really make resolutions but I did sit down and write out goals I had for the New Year and a bucket list of things to do. I spent a lot of time reflecting on this past year and there really were so many good moments but I'm left with a feeling that I could have done more and what an ...
