One Room Challenge (ORC) Fall 2020
Just in case you aren’t familiar with the One Room Challenge (ORC), it’s an event hosted by Linda Weinstein of Calling it Home and Better Homes and Gardens. Every Spring and Fall, they host a six-week challenge to make over a space in your home.
If you made it here from the ORC website — welcome!
Week Four update
This past week we really didn’t get too much done for the room. We were out of town last week in beautiful Sedona, Arizona. When we got back home, it was very, very windy in Southern California. You may have heard of the fires currently raging out here. The house that we sold last year was actually evacuated.
The Fallen Tree
Sunday night into Monday morning the wind was howling, that’s for sure. When I was pulling out of the driveway Monday morning, I look in our front yard and it looks like this:
Oof. Our tree was completely ripped out of the ground by the force of the wind. Thankfully, no one was hurt and it didn’t fall on the house. Unfortunately, it did break our main pipe and was gushing water. So we have spent the majority of the week dealing with that, getting the tree cut and removed, having the pipe fixed, etc.
Even with that little blip, we know that we got off very easily. My heart is with those affected by these fires and to the brave firefighters fighting them. Let’s hope that they can be contained soon and everyone can return to their homes.
Even though we haven’t done much in the room, there’s still been many conversations about what we’re going to do in the room, especially if you remember the great accent wall debate.
I think we may have figured that out but I will wait until I know for sure!
Here’s a reminder of the look we’re going through.
